About

Hi there! My name is Larry and I’m an electrical engineer during the day and blogger by night! I’m excited to be sharing my technical insight with you with regards to electricity, power consumption, electronics and how to save money!

My Background

I have electrical engineering degrees with Purdue University and the University of Southern California. I’ve worked on power electronics, wireless systems and robotics for a diverse group of companies in defense, industrial, power distribution, and even space!

Once thing I’ve noticed is the increasing complexity and reliance on electricity, and with the rapidly-rising electricity prices, I figured there might be a lot of people looking for help in making decisions about electronics and how and when to use them!

Helping You Save Money and the Environment

Energy prices only seem to go up and people are using more and more electricity everyday. Whether it’s to charge cell phones, watch TV, run the refrigerator, light your home, or maybe you even have an electric car that needs charged daily.

Not only does all of this cost a lot of money, it’s starting to impact the environment! Hence, understanding how to better control and use your appliances and charge your vehicles can make a huge impact on both your finances and the environment!

Doesn’t that sound like a win-win situation for everyone?

Every Little Bit Helps

You might be thinking, does it really matter what just one person or family does in the grand scheme of things? Probably not, but if lots of people start to pay attention to their energy usage, and just put a little bit of time, effort and money into it, it’s possible to make a BIG impact on the environment and future!

Simple things like turning off lights, TVs and computers really add up over day, months and years! Just take a look at some of our posts on how much it costs to run appliances!
